Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Victoria Hansen
Owner

  • Dr. Hansen (nee McEwan), residency trained in Ocular Disease and Primary Care Optometry, joined Advanced Eyecare Solutions in 2017 and later purchased the practice in 2023. She earned her doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University while simultaneously earning a Masters in Public Health. She then pursued residency training through SUNY Optometry at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System.

    A lifelong upstate New Yorker, Dr. Hansen hails from Otsego County and earned her Bachelors in Biology from Elmira College. Dr. Hansen is a member and leader within the New York State Optometric Association (NYSOA) who awarded her the Young Optometrist of the Year in 2024.

    She is also a member of the American Optometric Association and local affiliates of the NYSOA.

    Dr. Hansen resides in Catskill with her husband Steve and four legged fur babies Stella, Lily, and Corona. She is devoted to co-parenting her stepson, Dawson. Outside of the office Dr. Hansen enjoys being outside in nature and spending time connecting with friends and family.

Dr. Jenny Liu
Optometrist

  • Advanced Eyecare Solutions was thrilled to bring on Dr. Liu as a full time Optometrist in 2025.

    Dr. Liu earned her doctorate at The State University of New York (SUNY) Optometry in 2022 and then pursued residency training in Primary Care Optometry with emphasis in Ocular Disease and Low Vision Rehabilitation at the VA New Jersey Health Care System.

    Prior to joining our office, she worked at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). She brings her passion for pediatric and adult Low Vision Rehabilitation to Advanced Eyecare Solutions, providing a well-needed niche optometric service to this area.

    In addition to Low Vision Rehabilitation, Dr. Liu provides comprehensive eye care, contact lens evaluations, and management of ocular disease.

    Outside of the office Dr. Liu enjoys artistic pursuits and supporting locally owned makers and businesses. She is dedicated to creating equitable and inclusive eyecare for all, and centers Disability Justice in her approach when caring for her patients.

Dr. Kim Dobrodziej
Optometrist

  • Dr. Kim, as her patients know her, joined Advanced Eyecare Solutions as a part time Optometrist in early 2024. 

    A 2014 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, Dr. Kim has practiced in the capital region for over a decade. She brings a wealth of knowledge in comprehensive eyecare, contact lens evaluations and management of ocular disease and approaches every patient encounter with compassion and warmth.

    When not in the office, Dr. Kim enjoys photography, yoga, concerts, traveling, exploring the great outdoors with her dog Hans, and camping along the St. Lawrence River.

    Dr. Kim and her husband, Erik - also an Optometrist, welcomed a baby boy into the world in March 2026.

Austin Sullivan

  • Austin, a native of Germantown, joined Advanced Eyecare Solutions in 2020 in pursuit of a new career path that would give him more time with his family.

    He excelled in his training and became licensed in ophthalmic dispensing in 2023. Through his professional recommendations for lenses and engaging approach to eyewear selection you can be sure you will leave the office with eye wear that fits you well and is functional for your daily tasks.

  • Mary has been in the industry since 2001, and holds certifications in ABO/NCLE and is a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). She is currently a licensed optician in Vermont.

    Mary joined Advanced Eyecare Solutions in 2025. She brings over two decades of experience in optical sales to the practice. Mary offers and exceptional experience in eyewear selection tailored to each patient she works with.

    She is an avid reader, enjoys spending time with her family, attending sporting events, especially baseball, and concerts.

Caitlin Stickles

  • Caitlin has been with Advanced Eyecare Solutions (formerly Family Eyecare Center) since its 2007 inception.

    Over the years she has filled many roles in the practice and continues to bring a wealth of knowledge in optometric billing and practice management supporting Dr. Hansen every step of the way through the transition into ownership.

    Caitlin ensures the practice runs smoothly by coordinating with the team for day to day operations and managing coding and billing so the optometrists can focus on providing exceptional patient care.
